a user-defined database. DigitalShipper has been designed

design to deliver the most technologically progressive Warehouse
Management System on the market today. Running with a multi-layered
N-Tier infrastructure, DigitalShipper leverages such a select
technologies as Distributed InterNet Architecture (DNA).
Utilizing Cooperating
Components
DigitalShipper’s development strategy rests on Microsoft’s
vision of cooperating components that are built based on the
standard called the Component Object Model (COM).
COM provides the richest set of integrated services, the widest
choice of easy-to-use tools, and the largest set of available
applications.

DigitalShipper Client/Server N-tier
Development Model
Windows DNA distributes an application in several layers called
the tiers emphasizing logical distribution of the application.
Microsoft Transaction Server (MTS) regulates the sharing and
process threads of all the components.
User Services Tier
The graphical User-Interface (GUI) is independent from the
central core of the product, thus allowing different user-interfaces
to be implemented with different tools and technologies.
Business Services Tier
This tier of the application is the core to the system’s
business logic and functionality. By reducing the need for
IT professionals to function as system integrators, they can
focus on developing real world solutions. Applications become
more robust, easier to deploy, manage and change overtime
lowering the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).
Data Services Tier
By splitting the data centric component out of the business
objects, we have provided flexibility and scalability for
how we can deploy our application. DigitalShipper is database
independen,t offering a wide range of data storage options
including SQL Server, Oracle, any ODBC Data Source, or any
ADO Data Provider.
