DigitalShipper ESC is a comprehensive SDK for
designing a multi-carrier shipping system using any COM+-aware
language or tool. The n-tier architecture is highly scaleable
and can be optimized across multiple servers to achieve the
best system performance.
The data tier is database independent so it can fit easily
into your existing environment and operate within your choice
of database. The business logic tier consists of two parts
to address a diversity of needs – whether it is a simple
rating application or handling complex shipping decisions.
The presentation tier contains a client component to securely
access the application and manage peripheral devices.
The DigitalShipper Management Console is included with the
ESC to provide a standard “out of the box” interface
for configuring and managing your sites and carriers. As a
result, DigitalShipper ESC is a Rapid Application Development
(RAD) tool that can quickly produce robust shipping applications
to operate in client/server or distributed n-tier environments.
